Looks like McCain's fundraising numbers have been getting a little help.
Checks have been rolling in for max contributions. $2300 for individuals, and $4300 for couples. ANd Total checks to the RNC for $48000.
But from unlikely sources.
Teachers, mechanics, and retail managers. Giving what must be close to 1 months wages, to McCain, and over a years income to the RNC!? Wow. Really?
It couldn't possibly be corruption, or bundlers, and big oil finding people to funnel men

Good call, Phaedrus! Here's some food for thought:
NYT: /span>Previously, from 1989 through May 2008, Mr. McCain had raised only about $1.3 million in donations from employees and political action committees of oil and gas companies./span>
Senator John McCain received a burst of donations in June from oil company employees after he came out in favor of offshore drilling, according to a report released last week by Campaign Money Watch, a watchdog organization.
But the largest collective response from a single company, the report noted, came from the Hess Corporation.
TPM: /span>Ten senior Hess Corporation executives and/or members of the Hess family each gave $28,500 to the joint RNC-McCain fundraising committee, just days after McCain reversed himself to favor offshore drilling, according to Federal Election Commission reports.../span>
The Washington Post /span>reported last week/span> that campaign contributions from oil industry execs rose in a big way in the last half of June, after McCain drew a huge amount of attention by /span>reversing/span> his opposition on June 16th to the federal ban on offshore drilling.
These Hess contributions, however, hadn't been reported until now, and they will give more ammo to those arguing that McCain is being rewarded by campaign contributions in exchange for pro-industry positions/span>
Late Update
Late Late Update: A Hess office manager and her husband, an Amtrak worker, each chipped in $28,000 apiece, too.
Late Late Late Update: Turns out that the office manager and her Amtrak husband rent their home in Flushing, Queens.
Still Later Update: It's likely that the Amtrak worker makes considerably less than $100,000 a year.
NYT again: In February, Mr. and Mrs. Rocchio each gave the maximum $2,300 for the primary to Mr. McCain. At the end of June, they also tacked on an additional $2,300 each to Mr. McCain’s general election legal and accounting compliance fund, giving at the same time as a slew of others connected to Hess.
Publicly available information about the Rocchios offers a mixed picture of their socio-economic situation.
They appear to rent their home in Flushing, a working class community in Queens, although property records also show they purchased a condominium in Arizona last year for more than $560,000 and a home in North Carolina for $525,000 in 2006.
Motor vehicle records show a 2003 Buick and 1993 Chevrolet registered in their names.
But Mr. Rocchio is enrolled as a Democrat, and they do not appear to have previously made any political contributions to a federal candidate or committee;

Last - FactCheck reports that the contention that McCain supports $4 billion in tax cuts for Big Oil is “somewhat misleading”. McCain’s economic stimulus package consists almost exclusively of tax breaks for corporations and $4 billion just happens to be Big Oil’s share- got it?
