There was no knock on the door in the middle of the night.

The door simply exploded inward with a loud crash accompanied by someone shouting “Go! Go! Go!!”

The instant cloud of dust and debri gave substance to the flashlights and high-intensity laser beams stabbing here and there probing the darkend room and doorways for the enemy.

The Blackwater storm troopers were very efficient.  Not surprisingly, after years of unfettered practice in occupied Iraq.

The family hudled in their secret saferoom, built years before to escape from the possibility of home invasion.  Never did they dream until recently that they would have to sleep nights in the saferoom to escape the Blackwater boys.

But they had been quietly warned that other’s had disappeared in the dark of night. Anyone who had spoken out in opposition to the regime was fair game now that the president had consolidated power and temporarily suspended Congress, with the blessing of the Conservative supreme Court.

The stage had been set by the previous occupant# of the Oval Office.  The seeds were planted before the Patriot  Act was enacted, but that gave the movement escape velocity.  The president and all presidents going forward could declare anyone an enemy combatant, and the list was long and growing.  With the suspension of Habeas Corpus people were simply disappearing into the night without any public trace.

It was supected by the Average American that these evaporated citizens were in concentration camps.  Halliburton* had built holding pens in undisclosed locations under contract from the Department of Homeland Security.   This had been done quietly as the population slept.  It had not been denied – simply ignored by the MSM and the sleeping populace, and not acknowledged by the government.

President Hillary Clinton could not be blamed of course.  Oh sure, she had engineered the uprising among her supporters and orchestrated the coup that knocked Obama out of the nomination at the Democratic convention.  No one ever accused her of not being the quintessential politician, and she was at the top of her game that night.

But then she had been forced to accept Senator McCain, whom she had after all allied herself with in the primary battles against Obama, as her Vice President when it became clear that the rightwing base was energized by her nomination; enough so as to threaten to throw the election into the Conservative Supreme Court again for a 2000 replay.

But she had little to do with the setting of the stage.  She simply acquiesed in the use of the tools that she had voted for as only one of many in the Senate.  No, President Hillary Clinton could not be blamed - she and the Democrats had simply been out manouvered.

The Vice President on the other hand went after the unpatriotic disenters in the population with the zealousness of the righteous warrior. And his AG Joseph Lieberman knew how to use Blackwater private mercenaries and the Halliburton camps that had been developed for this purpose to squelch any vocal opposition to McCain's constant beating of the war drums.

The family crouched in the darkened saferoom as they heard the muffled chaos in their home, knowing that whatever lay in store for them this was no longer their home – or their America.
