With friends like this, who needs enemies? Now I’m not saying that John Kerry doesn’t have the right to endorse whomever he likes. I’ve always liked John Edwards; I believe he is a man of principles and has a heart of gold. John Edwards must be stunned, or maybe not. Back when John Kerry became the nominee I cringed. Kerry seemed so disingenuous. So am I surprised that he would endorse Obama? Not really. John Kerry is a turd. Now we have our own Governor, Janet Napolitano jumping on the bandwagon.
Have the leaders in the Democratic Party determined that Obama is more “electable” by just being black? Again, this man can imitate MLK with his key words to sound like the civil rights leader, but as far as substance and pinning him down on answering what are his ideas; he gets a pass on substance. Hope won’t get you too far, action does and I haven’t figured out what actions Obama plans to initiate. Affirmative action works, not quite up to par…you get a pass. Obama gets a big fat pass.
In Obama’s attempt to sound like MLK, he has some in awe, such Chris Matthews of MSNBC. The media is drooling over the hopes of a big story for the history books that they have overlooked their responsibility of investigative journalism. Obama needs to prove himself as a capable leader and not from the Oval Office! Wake up fellow Democrats, our country, the economy, the war, the corruption and no bid contracts must be dealt with and not by a rookie; this is much too serious.
My vote is for John Edwards.

Bella, I wish you'd back off your racial attack and take a reality check. Obama is an orator and not exactly a rookie of any color. He's sold hope for change more effectively to date than Hillary or Edwards, that's all. But in doing so, he's effectively framed the agendas of all the other candidates - of both parties! Sheez, all he needs to do is flesh out his hopeful messages with policies and programs. Why can't you give the guy a chance - there's time?!
You ask, "Have the leaders in the Democratic Party determined that Obama is more "electable..." No, in the last analysis, the voters of TWO states have spoken their preference - and it's not winner-take-all for the Dems, you know! It's still a three-way race for the nomination.
Some thoughts on yours and others posts - at what point do you consider an experienced candidate to be a "culpable insider" responsible for our national maladies? If Obama were to become the Democratic candidate, would you vote for him? Why? Do you think Obama could put together an effective administration that would re-establish our Constitutional guarantees and steer the nation in the direction you'd like, Al Sharpton and Jessee Jackson notwithstanding? Who is your Democratic candidate of choice? Why?
We need candid a discussion of Obama's strengths and weaknesses - not Swift-Boating!
