So, Sister Sarah got her thong in a knot because David Letterman made a joke about her "updating her slutty flight attendant look."  Ok, just because she wears "come F**K me shoes", and paints her middle-aged toenails with little flower's doesn't mean she is a slut.  She just plays one on TV.   Sarah said the joke was an insult to flight attendants.  I think it was too.  I would be PISSED if I was a flight attendant and someone compared me to Sarah Palin. Imagine an emergency on a plane with Palin as the person that is supposed to provide you with lifesaving information and leadership.  YeeGads! 

But what really got Sarah's goat was the insult that Letterman laid on Alex Rodriguez. Of course, Sarah being self absorbed Sarah, saw it as an insult to her daughter.  And of course, Sarah being the paragon of virtuous and perfect motherhood, defended her daughter Willow's honor.  Good for her.  Except who in the hell even KNEW she had a daughter named Willow?  I would venture not too many until Sarah dragged her through the mud to get another 15 minutes of fame for Sarah. 

Of course, Letterman didn't say if he was talking about underage Willow or Bristol, the mother of the Trip, the bastard grandson of Sarah. 

Ever classy, a Palin spokesperson said that it would "be wise to keep Willow away from Letterman."  Oh, so now Letterman is a child molester?  Well, said Sarah "Hey, take it however you want to take it..."

As AKMuckraker has written: let's have a little thought experiment. Let's just suppose that someone had asked David Letterman if, when he told that joke, he meant to insinuate that Willow Palin has promiscuous sex with older men, and he had said, "Hey, take it however you want to take it."

Now, how would a classy, non-redneck person handle this?  I venture to say they would put out a statement that said something like "We (I) find Letterman's joke to be unfunny and I will not dignify his attempt at questionable humor with further comment."

The Hypocrites:

So I am watching Fox News this AM before going off to my very important job (for which I am paid an astronomical sum of money-six figures) and I see some moronic female conservative making the case that only conservative women are subjected to such abuse.

Really?  How about Limbaugh calling Chelsea Clinton the White House dog?  What about McCain's awful "joke" about the paternity of Chelsea Clinton? And remember when David Shuster of MSNBC said that the Clintons were "pimping out their daughter" during the recent campaign?  Ole David got double secret probation and a suspension for that.  It has reported (and not refuted) that McCain called his own wife a "C**T and and trollop.  

Oh, what the hell.  Just listen to Rush Limbaugh for your daily dose of misogyny-  (that means hatred of women--for the postman's of the site). 

Let's Make A Deal

So, now folks are calling for Letterman to be fired.  For sure he made a questionable joke. He apologized.

McCain is a US Senator. He should be held to a higher standard than a late night comedy show host.

Rush is the leader of the Conservative movement (such as it is).

But let's make this deal Conservatives.  Letterman resigns or gets fired as soon as McCain is kicked out of the Senate, Rush is forced to resign and everyone that made a racist joke about Obama is fired.
