Even though hybrid cars are environmentally friendly and quiet, there is a possibility that we may never be able to drive them in Arizona.
Apparently, there are those proposing a bill to ban them here as they pose a danger to the blind. You see, the blind cannot hear them approaching.
Although I do not encounter many, if any, blind people in my day to day travels, I do know that they always cross at intersections. They are adept at knowing when it is safe to cross on the green light. Their hearing is super sensitive and their basic sense of perception is greatly heightened.
If all other traffic is stopped, then the Hybrid would most likely be stopped also.
Oh, wait! I forgot, we're in Phoenix. The traffic is not all stopped on a red. One must await their green to let at least two or three more vehicles run the red.
So pretty much, it is a danger for any blind or non-blind person to cross a street here.
So I guess we'll just have to ban all vehicles.

Digg It!

Besides, Americans don't want a shoe box to drive in because people like me in TAHOEs use them for speed bumps and the blind hear me coming!!!
